More than what I do.

I am a Jesus follower.

That is not a footnote to my ideology; it is where the ideology comes from. I believe we are made on purpose, designed to evolve, and imbued by our creator with the drive to become greater than we now are. When I say we were made to become, I mean made.

And I am a husband and a father. Julia has been married to more than one version of me. She has seen every draft, including the ones I would show no one else, and she is the first witness, and more often than she knows the reason, for each one that followed. The two small people in that photograph are the most honest board I answer to. They do not care what I shipped this quarter, and their questions are better than most investors’.

So the commitments I hold, proximity, context, harmony, generosity, metamorphosis, are not values picked from a list. They are what following looks like on a Tuesday. Be in the room. Understand before you ask. Play your part in measure. Give first. And never confuse who you are with what you do.
